It goes without saying that without the unwavering support of patients and support of our clinical colleagues around the world, advancing developments in Sickle Cell Disease would not be possible. On behalf of the Sanius Health team, I would like to take the opportunity to thank all SCD advocates, doctors, nurses and support teams who continue to better the lives of SCD patients and their families.
To celebrate these individuals, Sanius Health has created a list of this year’s Top 80 Most Influential Advocates and People in Sickle Cell Disease. It honours achievements within SCD over the past 12 months and focuses on figures whose influence in advancing care, treatment and outcomes has been demonstrable. The categories we have chosen celebrate individuals and organisations who are advancing new medicines, improvements in access, patient experiences and ultimately better outcomes for patients globally.
Curated with deep consideration, our list is not simply a recognition of influence within the community, but a study in how compassion, resilience and resolve to better patient lives can be wielded. Although many within our community face multiple challenges, we are united in our determination to address these challenges together. The spectrum of leaders on this list, wielding influence in so many ways, is a demonstration of what can be achieved when our efforts in bettering patient lives and outcomes are aligned.
We would like to thank every person on this list, as well as others whose life mission it is to improve SCD care, for the work they do to improve the lives of every patient – no matter who they are, or where they are in the world.
